Job Description:
- Provide escalation support of the global production and development environments whilst working shift, monitoring chat requests and ticket queues.
- Work onsite during weekend and night-times, participating in a 24×7 support organisation
- Level 3 Incident management of issues impacting the Unix (Solaris and Linux) environments, including HW and SW related issues.
- Communication – Develop relationships with other Infrastructure groups, including the Network, Server & Database teams. Also work with the Application & Developer teams to ensure maximum availability.
- Follow established procedures and processes to ensure that all Audit and Regulatory requirements are met.
- Company standards Follow all the company prescribed standards and procedures, including security and change control
- Resolve problem tickets allocated to team on central management tools (e.g. ServiceNow)
- Regular verbal and written communication with business partners and other support teams to clarify details of incidents or service requests to maintain production stability and meet established SLAs.
- Write technical documentation as needed
- Planning and coordination of major Unix infrastructure activities, such as site power downs, mass patch rollouts, upgrades to core infrastructure (DNS, NIS, LDAP, etc)
Desired Skills:
- Specialist knowledge of some or all of the following products:
- o Oracle Solaris 8 / 10
- o Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
- o Veritas Product Suite: Filesystem, Volume Manager, Cluster Server, Netbackup
- o Solaris Disk Suite
- o Solaris SPARC/X86 HW, HP DL Hardware
- o SAN/NAS Storage Products.
- Strictly Full time graduate with 15/16 years regular education.
- Experience must be between 6-8years.
- Must be a onsite travel ready resource.
- Candidate can choose base location as any branch of Cognizant in India.
